The Barbara Ash Scholarship Fund
Barbara Ash, formerly the research director for the Maryland Association of Community Colleges, died in an automobile accident on September 15, 2007. Barbara was a warm, caring person, a loving parent, and a valued colleague, who was admired by all who knew her. She was also an active member of her community and believed in the benefits of "giving back."
In her honor, this scholarship will acknowledge and reward one student each year who will be attending any one of Maryland's 16 community colleges for the first time and who has demonstrated leadership in community service.
The scholarship funds will be used for tuition, fees and books and will be paid directly to the community college. In the event the recipient does not use the funds at the selected community college, the scholarship money will be returned to the fund's administrator, the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County
